Why Grades 7-9?

We group grades 7-9 together intentionally. Ninth graders, having just transitioned to high school, benefit from stepping back into a leadership role where they can model creative courage and support younger students. For 7th and 8th graders, having older peers in the room creates natural mentorship and inspiration. This dynamic fosters a productive, confidence-building environment for everyone involved.

DID YOU KNOW?

Theatre training is one of the best preparations for college interviews. Drama students learn to communicate authentically, read body language, and respond in the moment—skills that give them a distinct edge in admissions.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING FOR YOUNG ARTISTS

This is an 8-week intensive where you'll develop acting skills, work with scene partners, and create original performance work that reflects who you are and what you care about.

Contemporary scene study. Physical theatre. Voice work. Devising. The same techniques professional actors use to prepare for auditions and performances.

By the end of 8 weeks, you'll perform a showcase of scenes and physical theatre for your families - work you've created and shaped together.

  • Physical warm-ups, voice work, ensemble building. Learn professional theatre vocabulary and start building trust with your scene partners.

  • Dive into contemporary scenes and duologues. Explore character, objectives, and what it means to really connect with your scene partner.

  • Create original physical theatre pieces. Use movement, tableaux, and rhythm to tell stories visually and emotionally.

  • Combine your scene work and physical pieces into a cohesive showcase. Polish, rehearse, and perform for invited guests.

Learn from a Professional

I'm a Guildhall School of Music and Drama graduate with 18 years of professional acting experience, including roles in 9-1-1, Kung Fu, Allegiance, and the Emmy-winning Black Mirror episode "San Junipero."

Drama made all the difference for me. When I was being bullied in my tween years, theatre became my safe space — where I found confidence, community, and essential life skills that shaped my career and life.

I believe drama education develops collaboration, confidence, empathy, and leadership — qualities that help young people thrive in every aspect of life, not just the arts.
